2015
At the beginning
The reflection begins with this photo. This dead child on the beach. This photo that we can not comment so much it is poignant. This photo which, as the daughter of immigrants and a mother, does not leave me indifferent.
2017
The reflection continues ...
The reflection matures and becomes concrete by listening to Pierre Rabhi's Tedx and the Amerindian tale he tells:
"One day, says the legend, there was a huge forest fire. All the terrified and dismayed animals watched, helpless, the disaster. Only the little hummingbird activated, going to seek a few drops of water in its beak for them throw it on the fire. After a while, the armadillo, annoyed by its ridiculous actions, said to it: "Hummingbird! You're not crazy ? Do you think that it is with these drops of water that you are going to put out the fire? "" I know it, answers the hummingbird, but I do my part ".
2018
Departure to Africa
Despite the departure, the adaptation was very difficult and fear overwhelmed me. A tedx by Margaux Hammann helped me put my fear aside. "Let us assume that we are out of step in a world that is freaking out and containing itself, let us assume that we love and dare to launch out. Let us choose the heart over fear." So replace this fear with love forget our fears. Finally decide to do my part like the Hummingbird.
2019
Creation of the association
ACREDITA NA BO VITORIA comes from Cape Verde Kreol which means BELIEVE IN YOUR VICTORY. To accomplish great things, we need to believe in ourselves, to believe in our ability. This lack of confidence was an obstacle to my return to Africa, this is why we wanted them to become the name of our association. Believe never to give up. Give the possibility to Africans to believe in themselves, to believe in their continent, to believe in their capacity to develop their continent.
2019-2020
Currently
After 4 months of activities, we opened 3 centers in 3 different cities: Assomada, Ricao and Porto de Ribeira da Barca in the island of Santiago Cabo verde.
These centers receive children outside of school periods. We support them in their homework, and we offer them artistic, cultural and sporting activities. In each center we strive to transmit our values to children who are:
Self-confidence, Brotherhood, Resilience, Ecology.
